You walk out to your car to find your unopened Mountain Dew frozen in its cupholder.
BTW, it dropped 3 degrees from the time I left the house until the time I parked at work. The only other thing that drops this fast in South Carolina is graduation rates.
*Badump-tish!*

I wish I had a thermometer in my truck.....supposed to be -10F with no windchill.
With windchill it'll be -20 or lower.

Is this winning or losing? -26C is -15F.

Losing.

It did feel like losing when I was outside this morning. That's for sure.

A few winters ago I left a can of Mountain Dew on my backseat during a cold snap. It exploded while I was driving so loud I thought I got shot. I pulled over confused and terrified, looked in the backseat and saw shreds of aluminum and little chunks of frozen Mountain Dew snow everywhere. That was fun to clean.

Damn, that's got me beat. Worst I ever did was leave a can in my glove compartment. Got all over my documents. What a mess that was.

It would be really awesome if the weather decided to stay at the exact right temperature to keep a bottle of Mountain Dew at a perfect chill, Not too warm and not too cold.

Currently 0 degrees in Ann Arbor... No loose drinks in my car to 'splode tho!

That still sucks. The worst part was having no idea what the noise was for a few seconds (I forgot I left some cans in the car).

I can only imagine. Good job keeping the car on the road. Most people probably would have swerved and wrecked.

Above zero? Fucking casual.
You know it is cold when you go outside and your boogers freeze instantly in your nose.

You've got double digits. I'd take that right now. The past few days have had lows around -5F, but the howling wind makes up for it.
Last winter it got really cold. I was really concerned that I had frostbitten my toes while playing hockey inside on this night. I took my skates off and there was a big white patch on the side of my big toe and my feet hurt like crazy for 10 minutes.
On the way home it bottomed out at -33F. I can confirm that walking outside when it is -30 is physically painful if you aren't wearing a shirt.

Damn. I did the same with a can of Monster I forgot about in the door pocket overnight. Got in the next day to find sticky red slushy monster snow all over the front half of my interior. If it had gotten any warmer the next day it would have left my seats permanently sticky but thankfully it remained cold and I was able to clean it up with minimal residue. There are still are couple of faint red spots on my white headliner though...

The coldest I've experienced is -15. The main issue here in S.C. is that the temperature fluctuates so much. In December, we had it range from 71 to 16. Within a week. Sometimes, you'll see a 15-20 degree fluctuation from one day to the next. It makes it damned near impossible to get acclimated to a certain temperature range and we're constantly running around trying to dress for weather that never stays consistent.
I work construction, so I'm out for my entire 10-hour shift. A lot of days, I'll walk in wearing 3-4 layers of clothes and at the end of the day, I'll walk out carrying 2-3 of those layers in my arms because it jumped from 28 degrees to 63.

That actually happened to me today. A lot. Because I work outside for my entire 10-hour shift.
Construction rocks. >.>

It was around 0 with windchill today. I actually lived up in New England for a few years and I got used to the cold. But in S.C., when it'll be 20 degrees at 5:30 am, when I get to work, and 52 degrees at 4:30pm, when I go home (I work construction, so I'm also outside the entire time), it's pretty much impossible to get used to the temperature because it jumps so much.

That would be pretty sweet, haha.

Point taken. All carbonated beverages shall be at least 1/3 of the way empty before being left out in sub-freezing temperatures. :-P
P.S. - Glad you kept the car under control. I know many a folken who'd have swerved right off the road or slammed the brakes and got rear-ended.
